Value Trading has access to a smelting facility with a production capacity of 85 tonnes of pure gold per year. This facility is equipped with 6 induction ovens, capable of smelting 100 kg at a time. This guarantees that incoming batches are processed quickly.
What’s more, Value Trading also has its own smelting workshop, where clients can safely witness the smelting and sampling of their items.
// ANALYSis
Gold content can be determined in various ways.
The quickest method uses spectrometry. This is a non-destructive method of analysis. X-rays are used to determine which metals are present in the sample. After 3 minutes, the results are in. The device is calibrated daily and subjected to multiple rounds of quality control by independent parties.
Certificated assayers, trained and recognised by the Royal Mint of Belgium, work with precision. Destructive analysis methods, like fire assay and ICP, are carried out in the laboratory. An advanced weighing method, accurate to within 10 micrograms, enables us to guarantee extremely precise results.
// REFINING
Precious metals are refined in a modern refining department, which is fully PLC-operated. The acids are dosed so accurately that the resulting chemical reaction is perfect, and the separation of the gold from other metals takes place in the best possible circumstances.
The applicable environmental standards are closely monitored, and employee and workplace safety come first. This is supervised, in part, by an environment & safety coordinator.
